Poster design: Yokoo Tadanori
Since opening in 2012, the Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art has presented the work of Yokoo Tadanori according to a variety of themes and a diverse range of perspectives. For this exhibition, however, we have intentionally avoided any specific theme. There was only one criterion in selecting the display items: The work had to be something that had never been shown at the museum in the past.
This also explains the title, Yokoo Tadanori: Clearance Sale Exhibition. The idea of comparing the museum to a sale venue might at first seem rather humorous. But it is actually very much in keeping with Yokoo’s artistic vision, in which sensibility takes precedence over logic, and the sacred and profane are inseparably linked in a harmonious whole.
We hope that you will enjoy this unique exhibition, which reflects the museum’s distinctive character.
